News from Dark Star Fabrics

Updated August 1, 2020

The 2020 Maine Quilt Shop Hop, originally planned for April, will take place during the month of August.

The Dark Star Fabrics retail shop will be open with limited August hours:

Wednesday – Saturday
11: 00 – 4:00

Subject to State of Maine guidelines, we will welcome a limited number of shoppers inside our shop during these hours. For everyone’s safety, however, we encourage online and front porch shopping.

Online Shopping

This year, you can visit Dark Star Fabrics from anywhere. Stay safe and enjoy the convenience of online shopping.

If you place an order at our online Etsy shop, and if you confirm in a message that you are taking part in the Shop Hop, we will send you a stamped passport, together with your free pattern and charm square, when we ship your order.

Front Porch Shopping

At times when we are open and at other times if we are available, Dark Star Fabrics can reserve a stamped passport, free pattern and charm square for you to pick up on our front porch. Just call ahead at (207) 639-1026 to tell us when you are coming.

Also, at times when we are open and at other times if we are available, you may pick up your prepaid order on our front porch. First browse our online Etsy shop or contact us to select what you want. Then place your order through Etsy or give us a call at (207) 639-1026 for other payment options.

Please let us know the date and time when you will pick up your prepaid order so we can have it ready for you. If you choose front porch pickup for an online order, we will refund any Etsy shipping charges.

Inside Shopping

Because of space considerations, we will welcome no more than 3 shoppers or 1 carload at a time inside our shop from 11:00 until 4:00 each Wednesday through Saturday during the month of August.

While you are inside, please follow State of Maine guidelines:

  • Please wear your face mask;
  • Please use hand sanitizer (carry your own or use ours);
  • Please try to stay at least 6 feet away from other people.

At your discretion, you may bring your own protective gloves, hand sanitizer and/or alcohol wipes. You may also bring your own pen (for filling out the prize form) and stylus (for signing the iPad) to avoid using a public pen or stylus.

Note: public rest rooms will not be available.
