Simple Circle Cathedral Window Variation Quilt

It’s Different! It’s Interesting! It’s Fun!

Join Janice White on two Saturday afternoons for this entertaining class. You will learn the technique of making a summer-weight quilt using simple circles to create a Cathedral Windows Variation block, ending with a finished lap quilt or another project of your choice.

This technique combines all the steps leading to a finished project. No batting needed, no binding needed, no quilting needed. Everything happens while you make it.

It’s fun to put together and fun to look at.

Skill Level

Beginners and Up. The class is designed for all quilters from beginners through experienced quilters.

Come with your own fabric or shop our store with your class discount*.

For a 36” x 48” lap quilt, you will need 4 yards of fabric: 2 yards for the backing and 2 yards for the centers. This can be scrappy or you can choose specific colors for your backs and fronts. If you would like to make a table runner or place mat, please figure your yardage at 8” finished block size.

The wonderful part of this is, if you want to make your project larger, just keep adding. There’s really no stopping point.

Although the class is planned around a summer-weight quilt, if you want to make yours heavier, bring enough batting to fill each square. Scrap pieces of 10” work fine.

As with fabric, you can bring your own supplies or shop our store with your class discount*. You will need:

  • Sharp snips
  • Scissors
  • Pins
  • Pencil
  • 12” Ruler
  • Iron

Come with your own sewing machine and circle cutter or use one of ours.

*Dark Star Fabrics will give you a 20% discount on the fabric and supplies you buy for the class.

Your one-time payment of $40 will cover both sessions. Please pay at the start of the first session or earlier.
