Learn A Modern Spin on an Old Classic
Join Janice White for a two-evening hands-on quilting class at Dark Star Fabrics. Develop your skill using Dresden Plate templates or rulers with machine piecing and hand appliqué as you make a Dresden Plate wall hanging.
You will receive personal instruction in a small friendly class limited to eight participants.
The versatile Dresden Plate design is wide open to your interpretation. Use one template or multiple templates for as many Dresden Plate shapes and sizes as you choose. Give your wall hanging its own personality by using as many, or as few, colors as you want.
By the end of the class, you will be familiar with tips and tricks for working with Dresden Plate templates and you will have your own Dresden Plate wall hanging.
When you sign up, we will welcome you with details about the fabrics and tools you will need. Shop your stash or shop our store. Dark Star Fabrics will give you a 20% discount on all fabrics and tools you buy for the class.
Confident Beginners and Up. The class is designed for quilters who are comfortable using a sewing machine and have at least some sewing/quilting experience. Quilters who would like to learn a new quilting design, from confident beginners to experts, will enjoy this class.
Janice White, a life-long Phillips resident, has been quilting since the 1970’s. She has created hundreds of quilts for her family and charity and enjoys hand stitching and hand quilting. Dresden Plates are among her favorite blocks to work with.
Janice is a founding member of the Narrow Gauge Quilt Group in Phillips.
