Re-Usable Gift Bags
Simple, Fun and Good for the Environment
You probably have some holiday fabric, bargain fabric or novelty prints in your stash. Learn how you can use it to simplify the wrapping process, spread holiday cheer and reduce waste.
This fun class shows you a simple pattern you can easily customize. Your fabric gift bags will use only straight, flat seams. They will have a partial lining to make your bags look fancier.
You will receive personal guidance in a small friendly class limited to eight participants.
Skill Level
Beginners and Up. If you can use a sewing machine, you can handle this class.
When and Where
You will have two opportunities to take this class. The class starts at 1:00 and ends at 3:00 on Saturday, November 16, 2019 and again on Friday, December 6, 2019. The class will take place in the classroom at Dark Star Fabrics, 30 Main Street, Phillips, Maine.
Instructor
Rachelle Knight, co-owner of Dark Star Fabrics and long time quilter, is a member of the Narrow Gauge Quilt Group and the Mad Hatters Quilt Group, both based in Phillips.
Free Fabric
Dark Star Fabrics will give you free pre-cut fabric and materials to make two gift bags in the class. If you would like to make more bags, bring or buy* 1/2 yard x width of fabric plus two 6″x18” strips of contrasting fabric and ribbon for the drawstring.
Unless you will be using one of ours, please bring your sewing machine.
* Dark Star Fabrics will give you a 20% discount on fabric you buy for the class.
Cost
Your $15 payment will cover the class plus your free fabric. Please pay at the start of the class or earlier.
