2019 Maine Quilt Shop Hop Review
During the month of April, over 600 Hoppers accepted our invitation to “Hop in and Shop” at Dark Star Fabrics for the 2019 Maine Quilt Shop Hop.
An exciting part of our first year in the Shop Hop was meeting so many new quilters from all over Maine. We were also happy to welcome many of our old friends and returning customers. Maine quilters are great people!
We hope all of our quilting friends, new and old, will come back and see us again soon.
What to Do Next
Mail your stamped passport now. The Maine Quilt Shop Hop must receive your passport by May 15th to enter you in the statewide drawings for some valuable prizes.
Send your passport to Maine Quilt Shop Hop, P.O. Box 204, Coopers Mills, ME 04341. Make sure your name and contact information are readable. If you visited at least 10 shops, remember to vote for your favorite challenge quilt.

Local Talent on Display
Dark Star Fabrics celebrated this year’s Shop Hop with a special display of quilts by local quilters.
Hanging in our hall gallery and throughout the shop were quilts by Anne Baker, Deb Black, Diane Christen, Cindy Heyse-David, Byron Knight, Rachelle Knight, Pam Lambert, Judy McCurdy, Jean Richards, Helen Teele, Janice White, Alice Yates and Audrey Ziglar.
With two quilt groups in Phillips, another in Kingfield and one more in Madrid Township, the Phillips area is brimming with talented quilters. We thank all of the quilters who displayed their work at Dark Star Fabrics during the Shop Hop.
Hoppers’ Lunch
On April weekends, Hoppers enjoyed some home cooking right inside Dark Star Fabrics. Local Legend Winona Davenport of Pleasant Street Popovers & Pies sold delicious soups, sandwiches, desserts and other delights in our classroom.
Thank you, Winona, and thank you, everyone, for helping to make April of 2019 our best month ever at Dark Star Fabrics.
